Amy joined the project in 2020 after receiving her MS in Biology from the University of South Dakota. Due to the global pandemic and an enthusiasm for amateur coding, she examines the Cliff Swallow Project’s historic dataset. Her research focuses on the evolutionary advantages of group-size variation in cliff swallows. She studies the interactions between group size, body mass, and survival, as well as how group size affects lifespan and the cost of breeding. Previously, Amy worked on projects researching grassland bird migration, migratory bird populations, and dickcissel breeding behavior. On the rare occasion free time is acquired, she enjoys birding and reading and writing fiction.
